Saint George’s Private Hospital, a private limited company registered in Cyprus , was established in 1990 and commenced operation in March 1992.It is the only private hospital in Cyprus that have been financed by the Development Bank of Cyprus, the Government bankers.

It was named St Georges after the inspiration that Dr Demetriou had at 4 am in 1991.Dr Demetriou was trying hardly to find a name for the hospital and suddenly he woke up from his sleep at 4 am in 1991 with the inspiration to name the hospital St.Georges.

During 1996, the hospital undertook a major expansion programme, with the services and facilities now extending over five floors.

We now have separate clinical, surgical and maternity wings, with each unit being supported by the full range of the modern technology required to meet the needs of our patients.

The hospital offers a pleasantly relaxed atmosphere in which specialist medical and nursing personnel, using the most modern and sophisticated equipment, provide a first class private health care service.

With the aim of providing Quality in Patient Care, the hospital is committed to the introduction of new services and facilities as the need is identified.

The early diagnosis of potential health problems gives any treatment required with a much greater chance of being effective. With this in mind Saint George’s has recently introduced Health Screening programmes, all conducted by our highly qualified specialists using modern diagnostic equipment.
